Very few countries in the world can match Nepal in the variety of world class experience whether it be nature tours, culture tours, pilgrimage tours, hiking/trekking, mountaineering, jungle safari, mountain biking, white water rafting, canoeing, paragliding, bungee jumping, bird watching, ultra light, honey hunting tour, village tour etc.

Besides adventure tourism, the country is also famous for being a land of ancient history, colourful cultures and ever smiling people found nowhere else on the Planet. In Nepal, religion is not just a set of beliefs and accompanying rituals handed down from generations to generations; rather it is a complex intermingling of traditions, festivals, faiths and doctrines that have deep-rooted every strata of Nepalese Society. Religion tolerance and harmony among Hindus, Buddhism, Muslims and Christianity is perhaps a unique example of the world.

Board of Directors

Mr. Yagya Murti Acharya, Managing Director, Abha Travel and Tours, was born in 1975 A.D.; in Arghakhanchi, a beautiful villa in the Western Nepal, a zone where Buddha was born. After completing his secondary education, he moved to Kathmandu in pursuit of higher studies and has completed Masters Degree in Anthropology as well as Masters Degree in Nepalese History, Culture and Archaeology.
With fifteen years of work experience attracted him to deepen and widen in the tourism field which at the end led him to start his own Travel and Tours Company named ‘Abha Travel and Tours’. He himself is a government licensed tour guide and knows different languages such as Japanese, English, Hindi and Nepali. He has extensively travelled to the United Kingdom, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, India, Turkey and the United States of America.
With profound contribution to the social service to the needy and destitute in Nepal, and more than a decade’s experience; Mr. Acharya had made notable contribution to the development and supervision of gender and disability friendly toilets under UNICEF supported Emergency Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (E-WASH) project which were highly appreciated within the organization and development partners after the devastating earthquake. Recently, Mr. Acharya is entrusted upon the role of Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Accountability (MEAL) Officer for School Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Promotion (School-WASH) project supported by World Food Programme (WFP) and worked extensively for improving behavior and practice of school children on health and hygiene.
Mr. Acharya is also serving academician as he is currently fulfilling in the responsibility as a Lecturer: Anthropology for Tri-Chandra Campus; Tribhuwan University, under Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences from 10 July, 2017 till now. With the experience of more than a decade in hospitality industry, Mr. Acharya, as managing Director of Abha Travel & Tours, he has taken initiative to serve in the field of the travel and tours with the commitment to develop other more advances and quality services. He has led a well experienced professional in the team to promote the motto: ‘The guest is the God’.

Executive Director

Tara Acharya, born in Arghakhanchi, in 1978 is a dynamic and young entrepreneur in the Nepalese Travel and Tour industry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in population studies and has deep understanding and sound knowledge of the diverse geography, tradition and culture of Nepal. Before joining Abha Travel and Tours, she has gained robust experience in other service industries such as accounting and teacher. She has a more than a decade’s experience as tourism service provider and wishes to further excel with commitment and dedication to serve the guests. Office administration and financial management are other added values that will serve her in future assignments. She joined the corporation in 15 October, 2007 and has extensive travel to Thailand, India, Malaysia and Singapore to levitate her knowledge to expand her familiarity in the field of travel and tourism.

Technical Advisor

Hospitality had been in the center of Mr. Prakash Bastola’s professional attention from the child age, and he has dreamt about being manager or hotelier one day. During his time at college, he got a part time job with a local firm of travel agents, and really enjoyed his work. He was involved in promotions, marketing campaigns, and maximizing sales and customer holiday experience by suggesting excursions, upgrades etc. With his motivation and passion for the tourism sector and the work experience that he has had with a long rage of international organizations, projects, and people, he has excelled in cross cultural experiences, the diverse tradition, and cultures, and has contributed a lot to Abha Travel and Tours to streamline it priorities, policies, and procedures. In the days to come, he wishes to mainstream village and cultural tourism as tourism entrepreneur.

Mr. Prakash Bastola has also had a sound experience of leading progrmmmes in the different organizations within different responsibilities. He had worked as an Executive Director in a renowned youth organization for a decade championing in youth leadership development, and capacity building and youth mobilization in areas of democratic governance, human rights, and peacebuilidng while operating and coordinating with young leaders of the political parties including government line agencies. The experiences include leading projects and programmes with the Embassy of Finland in Kathmandu, Danida, the Asia Foundation, Action Aid, Open Society International, British Embassy, DEMO Finland, MS Nepal, Chemonics/OTI, GIZ, Search for Common Ground (SFCG), GIZ, and so on. He also have a sound experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion working projects under, UNICEF, and UN World Food Programme (WFP) for promoting WASH in earthquake recovery and for school children. In addition, he had well performed for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and resilience with MISOREOR/KZE and CARITAS supported projects.
