In Sanskrit, Abha means aura. In Persian, it means Paradise and is the derivative of "God the Glorious". In praise of the supreme power, the word beseeches God's blessing in every affairs of life, be it travel or any other business.
Tea tourism is a new concept in Nepal. Abha Travel & Tours have been promoting tours to Ilam which is the major tea producing destination in eastern Nepal to attract more visitors. Here travelling around the tea estates, interacting with the workers and spending nights in the farmers' cottages could be exciting experiences to the visitors.
A substantial number of visitors from US, Japan, China, Switzerland, France, Germany have been frequently visiting around Kanyam Tea Estate. Besides, visiting tea gardens one can also enjoy breathtaking sunrise and sunset views of Mt. Kanchanjunga and other mountain ranges from Antu Danda located at an elevation of 1677m. And those wishing to trek along the lush green hills at the backdrop of beautiful sights would be another advantage of the tour in Ilam.
We will also visit another interesting place called Mai Pokhari at an elevation of 2438m widely popular for Pilgrimage destination and boating. Ilam is easily accessed by road and other important entry points connecting Darjeeling, Mirik, and Sikkim.
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by Abha Travel & Tours representative and transferred to hotel. After check in, you can either take a rest or hang around in the city depending on your interest and time constraint. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion, introducing with your Tour guide. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions related to the tour program. Overnight in hotel.
Today after breakfast, we start a guided sightseeing to historical and spiritual sites in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites that include the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddhanath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world.
Today we take morning flight to Bhadrapur and check in the hotel. Visit the Satar village (Satar are backward tribe who hunt mouse and rats). Overnight at Bhadrapur.
Wake up early in the morning and drive to Kanyam (approx 40km) for sunrise and after strolling through the tea garden, drive to Pashupatinagar to visit the cheese factory. This is the border town to Darjeeling district of India. En-route visit Karfok, Panchakanya, Simpani, Mai Khola. After lunch at Pashupatinagar visit the local market. Overnight at Pashupatinagar tea gardens and the factory where the renowned Ilam Tea is produced. Overnight at hotel in Ilam.
After breakfast leave Pashupatinagar and drive to Ilam Bazaar. On the way sightseeing for 1 hour on foot and continue drive to Ilam Bazaar for overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast drive to Mai Pokhari and sightseeing around the lake, forests, rare flora and fauna and walk to Deurali bazaar and again back to Ilam bazaar. Overnight at hotel.
Drive back to Bhadrapur. Check in the hotel, be refreshed and fly back to Kathmandu in late afternoon.
