Nepal government has announced 2012 as ' Visit Lumbini year' as a national campaign with an aim to attract more tourists to Lumbini and to develop it as one of the most centralized Buddhism touristic hub in the world. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu & transfer to hotel
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by Abha Travel & tours representative and transferred to hotel. After check in, you can either take a rest or hang around in the city depending on your interest and time constraint. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion, introducing with your Tour guide. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions related to the tour program. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing
Today after breakfast, we start a guided sightseeing tour of Boudhanath stupa and Kapan monastery in Kathmandu. Here, in Boudhanath you will see the Buddhist monks praying & walking around the Stupa in a clockwise direction where you can enjoy taking photographs of colorfully painted Stupa. Then you will be taken to kopan monastery, meet the monks and participate on Buddhism. Lunch will be served (vegetarian) at the monastery. After lunch, we will drive you to Soyambhunath, located to the west of Kathmandu in a conical wooded hill. It is believed to be the most ancient holy Buddhist Stupa dating to the 5th century A.D. Here, you will visit chaityas, temples, painted images of deities and surroundings. Drive back to hotel & stay overnight.
Day 03: Drive to Kirtipur Pharping & Patan
After breakfast we leave for Kirtipur south of Kathmandu and visit Chilan chu Vihara. Then, we continue drive to Pharping and visit Buddhist monasteries. En-route stops for lunch. We drive to Patan where you will visit Maha Vihar golden temple and other Buddhist shrines. Drive back to Kathmandu & stay overnight in hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Namobuddha
After breakfast, we drive to NamoBudhha via Dhulikhel and visit Namo Buddha Monastery dedicated to the Shakyamuni Buddha. According to legends, Lord Buddha is said to have scarified his own flesh to feed a starving tigress and her clubs. A carved stone slab depicts the Buddhist tale of selfless compassion and sacrifice. Drive back to Bhaktapur & visit all the major sites in and around Durbar square. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 05: Fly to Lumbini & sightseeing in Lumbini
After breakfast we transfer you to Kathmandu. Domestic airport and take a flight to Bhairahawa and a short from Bhairahawa to airport we drive to Lumbini garden where you will visit the entire popular Buddhist to temples & shrines. Then, we drive to Tilaurakot (25km), the ancient capital of Kapilvastu & visit the major shrines such as Gotihawa, Niglihawa and Kundan. Overnight at hotel in Lumbini.
Day 06: Drive back to Kathmandu
After breakfast in hotel we transfer you to Bhairahawa domestic aiport from where you will take a flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at the Tribhuwan International airport, you will be greeted by the Abha Travel & Tours representatives and transferred to the hotel. After taking a rest and relaxation, during evening explore the market for your last minute shopping.
Day 07: Final Departure
Today our airport representative will make a departure transfer to Tribhuvan international Airport to board on the flight for your onward destination.
